Seafood markets, Acadian cuisine, a small gallery featuring local artists and a warm welcome are the hallmarks of the closely-knit fishing community of Neguac, which celebrates that warmth with rendez-vous Neguac each July.
This festival is an adventure in fun and friendship, but the real adventure comes from a trip to the beach. A long and narrow isthmus with spectacular ocean views connects Ile-aux-foins Park with the mainland, and the park itself has boardwalks and floating decks to connect the beach. Because the beach is so far from the shore, the windsurfing is fabulous!
A boat launch, hiking trails, dunes, an observation tower for bird- and/or ship watching and the Portage Island National Wildlife area add to the adventure. A western quarter horse stable at Pont Landry offers woodland trail rides for those who want to take a break.
